Justin Trudeau

Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, Canada’s 23rd Prime Minister and the son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, grew up immersed in public life and expectations — and went on to exceed them. Born in the nation’s capital and shaped by political legacy and public service, he became the first-ever child of a Canadian prime minister to hold the office himself.

As the leader of the Liberal Party, Justin Trudeau transformed third-place status into a historic 2015 majority victory and went on to serve as prime minister for a remarkable decade — a rare achievement in modern Canadian politics. During that time he advanced an ambitious national agenda, including appointing a gender-balanced cabinet, expanding childcare support, reducing child poverty, accelerating climate action, and advancing Indigenous reconciliation. He also led Canada through the global challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, navigating economic upheaval and high-stakes diplomacy in a period of profound disruption.

Before politics, Trudeau studied literature at McGill University, completed the University of British Columbia’s education program, and spent several years teaching in Vancouver, long championing youth engagement and environmental stewardship — experiences that helped shape his public voice and global outlook.

In this rare keynote appearance, Trudeau offers perspective from the highest levels of North American and global leadership — including working closely with successive U.S. administrations across party lines at moments of both alignment and strain. At a time of shifting alliances, trade tensions, and renewed questions about the durability of democratic partnerships, he reflects on what sustains alliances through disagreement, how nations safeguard shared prosperity, and what principled leadership demands when long-standing relationships face new pressures.
